The Iranians are like mosquitos - little things that can nark you off so much. America decimated their navy, but all Iran needs is a couple of cheap speedboats and a couple of guns and they can shut down the Strait. Tankers are harassed and insurers don’t want to take the risk. Blow a fast motor launch up and two more take their place - cost about $2,000? Each? So little danger has such huge ramifications. And we in the West suffer with high petrol prices. It’s annoying.

Also note that by last reckoning, Iran still had tonnes of ballistic missiles and drones. And with the advent of the Iranian "Castle Breaker" missile, they have been hitting American bases, hard. Harder than the American press would have you believe. Things is, even forgetting the Castle Breakers, even if America shoots down 99% of missiles and drones, 1% will still get through...
